I want to become an architect to be able to create feelings and memories for others. I would say that surrealism is a big inspiration for me because anything is possible to make and that is my motto. I like to think outside the box and I would call myself dynamic.
I am anxious to learn and develop my techniques and I believe that I can do this as a student at MSA. I believe that as your student I can contribute with a new way of thinking, a fresh mix of knowledge and ideas from the new generation. I want to study architecture and my aim is to continue it as a profession. At MSA I will get the chance to develop a personal style along side your renowned course when I am gaining invaluable knowledge from the lectures, workshops and former students. I like how your programme is constructed so that you gain knowledge in more than one way and I think your programme will provide me with a perfect ground base to stand on when I become an architect in the future.
A place I would like to visit is Dubai, which has an amazing architectural style that truly appeals to me. The design team ONL, has created a lot of different designs but one that I specifically like is the flyotel, in no less then Dubai. It is almost surrealistic in design but they took their dream and made it into reality. It is a hotel, with a body shaped like a bird, ready to fly. They wanted to create the feeling of flying and also represent that people in a hotel are currently traveling. I like their whole idea and I think architecture is more then just the building, it is the whole concept of creating. From initial idea to finial result, every part is an important process and details do make a difference.
Recently I have been able to visit the two cathedrals in Liverpool. They show a spectacular side of true architecture in two completely different ways. I have also recently been in Berlin, where I found it really strict and clean, in comparison, Rome were you can tell there is a whole different style in it’s almost ancient design. It is absolutely stunning and the fact that it is all hand made makes it even more incredible. When I came back from my trip to Rome I took the opportunity to develop within the roman style in art class and the more I have learned the more interest I have gained. I can see a clear theme throughout time and that the Romans have been a true inspiration throughout decades.
